The Assistant Director of Admission's main objective is to engage
and recruit students with a focus on access and success. This
position evaluates students' academic credentials and makes
decisions regarding the individuals' admissibility to the
University according to current admissions criteria and the
University of North Carolina system requirements. This position has
the authority to bind the institution to admissions
decisions.Assigned a specific geographical territory, the Assistant
Director carries comprehensive territory management
responsibilities for all recruitment and communication activities
in order to meet the university enrollment goals, including
counseling, recruiting, and evaluating prospective students who
express interest in UNC Asheville. All of these actions require
interpersonal, computer and organizational skills.Supported by
leadership, the Assistant Director will implement and deliver
outreach initiatives to increase awareness of UNC Asheville among
prospective students, families, mentors and education partners.In
addition to the above, the Assistant Director is considered a
leadership partner within the team and may be responsible for:
support of transfer students, strengthening institutional
relationships through both new and existing MOUs, working with
current students and alumni volunteers, access/success programming,
CBO outreach, social media and technology initiatives, admission
event planning, data management (Slate), athletic/arts recruitment,
visit team, scholarship programs, or communication initiatives.
