Position Summary:
Willamette University invites applications for two one-year (2022-23) non-tenure-track full-time positions in Chemistry at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, beginning in August 2022 and running through May 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Teach a mixture of General, Organic, and Biochemistry lecture and lab sections (the equivalent of three courses per semester), and participate in departmental and college faculty life. Specific teaching assignments will be based on the expertise of the successful candidates.

Salary: $44,380 - $51,785, depending on teaching responsibilities (for candidates with terminal degree completion) plus generous medical and dental benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A terminal degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (e.g. PhD). ABD with teaching experience considered.
  
• Must be able to reside in Oregon by the first day of employment or otherwise perform work primarily in Oregon.
  
• This is an in-person teaching position.
  

Willamette is a small, highly selective private university of 2600 students, 1400 of them enrolled in our undergraduate College of Arts & Sciences; other schools include the Atkinson Graduate School of Management, the College of Law, and the Pacific Northwest College of Art, which enrolls both undergraduate and graduate students. We are located in Salem, Oregon, the state capital, which lies 45 miles south of Portland. The successful candidate will be joining an ACS-approved Chemistry Department ( https://willamette.edu/undergraduate/chem/index.html) whose seven faculty members are committed to high quality, collaborative teaching and scholarship.
