Job Summary:

The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant seeks a CT track physician with interest and expertise in neuro-oncology and neurocutaneous disorders. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have completed a pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship or have gained additional focused experience caring for patients with CNS malignancies. Approximately 90-95% time will be spent in the clinical care of pediatric hematology, oncology and BMT patients, with a focus on neuro-oncology and neurocutaneous disorders. Approximately 5-10% time will be spent on teaching activities.

We are located in the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR) building next to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and are active members of the Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center, the Program for Advanced Cell Therapy and Wisconsin Blood Cancer Research Institute. We participate in numerous research consortia including the COG, PTCTC, PIDTC, MARCH, NEXT, St. Baldrick's/SU2C Pediatric Oncology Dream Team, and the Pediatric Clinical Immunotherapy Trials Network. We encourage translation of laboratory research into clinical trials at the adjacent American Family Children's Hospital, and conduct many novel investigator-initiated, as well as industry-sponsored studies.

- Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.

Qualifications:

Completion of US pediatric residency and relevant fellowship programs. Interest in academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential. Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.

Special consideration will be given to candidates who have completed a pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship or have gained additional focused experience caring for patients with CNS malignancies.
