Associate Director for Outreach, SEAA
About the Opportunity
The Associate
Director of Outreach will serve as a senior member of the Grants,
Training and Outreach division staff and will lead a team whose
primary purpose is to conduct outreach efforts that are designed to
assist students and families in understanding how to pay for
college, and to increase the college-going rate in North Carolina,
with special emphasis on serving subsets of student populations
such as adult learners. The position will be responsible for
program and policy development designed to expand awareness of the
availability of student financial aid and completion of the FAFSA,
including but not limited to managing agency programs such as
Finish the FAFSA, designing SEAA outreach communications,
overseeing content of the Pay section of CFNC.org, and serving as a
subject matter expert regarding FAFSA completion data with internal
and external stakeholders.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Authority
The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA),
an agency of the State of North Carolina, is authorized by the
General Assembly to plan, finance and administer student financial
assistance programs of a statewide or inter-institutional nature.
It serves students attending public and private two- and four-year
colleges and universities in North Carolina, as well as families of
students attending nonpublic K-12
schools.
About the Team
The Grants, Training and
Outreach Division administers over 30 aid programs awarding over
$350 million to approximately 150,000 K12 and college students each
year. The Division also conducts FAFSA outreach programs to educate
and assist North Carolina students and families with paying for
college and offers training programs for financial aid
professionals and school counselors.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum of master's or other advanced degree; or undergraduate
degree and at least two years of related experience.

- Experience developing and implementing new innovative programs.
- Commitment to quality and innovation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Supervisory experience.
Preferred Education, Experience, and
Skills
Strong commitment to and knowledge of student
financial aid or college access services gained through a minimum
of 5 years, 10 preferred, of professional leadership experience in
the field; national experience also preferred.
