Staff Accountant (Full-Time)

$23.65 (midpoint) ($49,192/year) - $28.36 (maximum) ($58,988.80/year) per hour/ $2,000 Sign-on Bonus after completion of satisfactory 90-day review

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Actual starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience provided on the resume and final interview.

Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for a variety of general accounting tasks including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.

Essential Job Functions

  • Bank account reconciliations.
  • General ledger reconciliations during the month-end close.
  • Journal entries.
  • Perform physical inventory of fixed assets and maintain operating lease schedules.
  • Contract database entries as necessary.
  • Process student financial aid stipends on a recurring basis.
  • Assist with accounts receivable duties as needed including coding and bank deposits.
  • Assist with processing accounts payable with proper invoice coding, packing lists and approvals.
  • Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager or Controller.


Marginal Job Functions

  • Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects.
  • Participate in RVU outreach activities.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills.

  4. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural setting.
  6. Strong oral and written communications skills.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and two (2) year of technical/professional experience in accounting or
  • Associate's degree in Accounting and four (4) years of technical/professional experience in accounting or
  • Six (6) years of technical/professional experience in accounting
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous experience at an accredited university, health profession college, or medical school.
  2. Experience in Jenzabar software.
