Class Description
The purpose of this class is to serve as a point of contact for individuals for community and outreach services. Serving as a resource referring individuals with needs in areas such as housing, food, transportation, and counseling. Positions located on the Essex, Dundalk and Catonsville campuses as well as Baltimore County Detention Center, American Job Centers, Baltimore County Library and other community agency locations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and two years of full time experience working in career counseling, development or case management. Or an Associate's degree and four years of full time experience working in career counseling, development or case management. Must have a valid driver's license in good standing with violation points less than five (5). Must be able to work some evening hours as needed.
Class Specific Essential Duties
1. Use screening tools to identify individual eligibility and counsel individuals on the application process for specific benefits.
2. Support individuals through the MYDHR benefit application process and review applications for completeness.
3. Assists individuals with documentation needed for benefit interviews and recertification.
4. Maintains accurate records and case notes in compliance with guidelines established by CCBC, DHR and SEEDco to follow up with applicants and determine receipt of benefits.
5. Serve as point of contact for internal and external campus community services and organizations.
6. Identifies and accesses student specific appropriate resources and /or makes referrals to address barriers such as housing, homelessness, medical, mental issues.
7. Serve as resource for faculty and staff who identify individuals with basic needs in areas of housing, childcare, tutoring, studies, bill paying, emergency funds, etc.
8. Provide informational presentations with students and throughout the community at large about available benefits.

The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees). - Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
- Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
