Job Description:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is currently recruiting for a Psychiatrist to serve as Chief of UF Shands Psychiatric Services at Shands Hospital. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure track faculty position.

The successful candidate is team-oriented and will lead, coordinate and provide psychiatric services across a continuum of care including the UF Health psychiatric consult-liaison service and the emergency rooms. The Chief of UF Shands Psychiatric Services will lead the adult, pediatric, and addiction consultation-liaison services, as well as helping to coordinate services between the medical/surgical inpatient hospitals and emergency departments and the Shands Psychiatric Hospital. This position also serves an important teaching role in the education of medical students, house staff, fellows, and other medical professionals, and in promoting the clinical and educational mission of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida.

Expected Salary:

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

Eligible applicants must be Board Certified M.D. or equivalent, in Psychiatry, and able to obtain a Florida Medical License. The successful applicant should possess a demonstrated record of clinical excellence, leadership experience, teaching and scholarly interest in an academic medical center. Experience with provision of consultation-liaison services is required. Experience with trauma-informed care principles as well as specialty certification in Consultation-Liaison or Addiction Psychiatry is desirable, but not required.
