Position Summary

This is a 10-month senior lecturer position in the Department of Teacher Education.  The primary responsibility of this position is teaching education courses and supervising student teachers.  



Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum, or related fields 
  • Strong background in secondary, K-12, elementary, and/or early childhood school teaching 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities 
  • Deep knowledge of social emotional learning and trauma informed pedagogies and successful implementations in schools 
  • Demonstrated ability to teach a range of courses at the undergraduate level 
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching in a small department 
  • Demonstrated collaboration with P-12 schools and/or community organizations 
Major Responsibilities
  • Teach 12 credits per semester in the Teacher Education Department, including teaching education courses, advising graduate thesis projects, and supervising student teachers. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student success in the classroom, during office hours, through mentorship of students within the Teacher Education Department, and supervising undergraduate research projects. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.  
  • Actively participate in department meetings. 
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508. 
  • Produce and remediate digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $46,500 for this 10-Month position, plus a comprehensive benefits package .
