Job Summary:

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin - Madison seeks new faculty at the tenured Associate Professor level, specializing in accelerated discovery of 2D / quantum materials through computational methods. Areas of interest include ab initio spin dynamics, defects in 2D materials and oxides, ultrafast spectroscopy, and many-body perturbation theory. Candidates should have a demonstrated outstanding record of accomplishments in research, teaching at the undergraduate and the graduate levels, and professional service. A record of collaboration with experimentalists and prior experience in leadership of center-level proposals is also desirable.

Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise graduate student research; develop and direct a strong, funded research program; participate in departmental and university faculty governance; demonstrate dedication to diversity; and contribute to professional and public service.

The successful candidate must meet the tenure requirements at UW Madison. PhD and at least 6 years of relevant work experience.
