Job Description
The Department of Computing Sciences at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin fall 2022. The position will support programs offering the BS and MS degrees in Computer Science, and the Ph.D. degree in Geospatial Computer Science. The basic job requirements include: (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, (2) establishing and directing an active and externally funded research program, (3) publishing research results in archival journals with high impact, and (4) advising and recruiting undergraduate and graduate students.
The department seeks applicants with research expertise in Machine Learning or Cybersecurity. However, applicants with exceptional background in other areas such as software engineering, mobile software development, operating systems, distributed systems, programming languages, and cloud computing are encouraged to apply.
The Department of Computing Sciences prepares students to pursue productive careers and advanced degrees in computer science or geospatial information science. Information about the department is available at http://csci.tamucc.edu/.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the
time of appointment.
- A strong track record of original research with publications in
leading venues such as IEEE/ACM.
- Ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and
culturally diverse campus community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels,
and in supervising undergraduate and graduate students is desired.
Must show teaching potential.
- Evidence of grant-funded research and interdisciplinary
expertise.
