Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Supervisor of Electric, Fire and Safety Systems in the Facilities Management department.

The candidate would be expected to: regularly inspect and evaluate all electrical and fire and safety work, including equipment, software, and security cameras, for completion and maintain records; supervise and direct the Electrical and Fire and Safety staff in the daily construction, inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, installation and replacement of interior and exterior lighting, motors, generators, transformers, wiring, switches, fire alarms, security cameras, and assorted fire and safety and building components; respond to unscheduled and emergency service requests during scheduled shift, and after hours at times.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Other Requirements:
Possess and maintain a New Jersey electrician’s license.

Ten years of related experience, preferably with progressive responsibility and/or supervisory experience.

Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to maintain accurate records and correspondence regarding electrical equipment, fire and safety equipment, hazardous and regulated waste, security cameras.

Must have a high degree of attention to detail and care to prevent injury to self and others and to ensure that the Electrical and Fire and Safety staff is constantly providing an appropriate level of service to, and meeting the needs of the University Community.

Must be able to read and write in English. Must be able to understand oral and written instructions in English, including SDS directions, chemical product labels, equipment manuals, work orders and be able to carry out work orders as required.

Must be able to calculate mathematically. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects regularly (up to 60 lbs). Must use all required safety and personal protective equipment (including respiratory protection). Must be able to work in multi-story buildings without elevators. Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces regularly.

Must be able to drive vehicles equipped with standard transmissions. Must be willing and able to work overtime as required. Must be willing and able to respond to emergency calls after working hours. Must have excellent attendance and work record. Must perform all work in strict accordance with accepted trade practices, code requirements and all safety and good housekeeping requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of security cameras and software, and environmental health and safety experience.
