Job Summary
This position is located at UWM's Washington County campus.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
  • Assisting with facility and equipment inspection, maintenance, and repairs to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage.
  • Assists with construction, and meeting and event preparation as needed.



Finance & Administrative Affairs is required to conduct Post-Offer Pre-Employment screenings on all selected candidates for Facilities Technician I position. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening.

The starting wage for this position will be $17/hr depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this vacancy must:

  • Provide evidence of previous experience in making sound, independent decisions
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of safety practices and procedures
  • Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver license (or other such valid operator’s permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/


Preferred Qualifications
Highly qualified candidates will also have:
  • Have a minimum of one year of experience working in snow removal and lawn care
  • Basic small engine knowledge and troubleshooting experience
  • Possess lawn and snow removal equipment operating experience
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
  • Provide evidence of ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with the campus community including students, building managers, academic personnel, and craft personnel, in a diverse work environment.
