Position Summary:
The HR Management Assistant II will be responsible for providing support, coordination and oversight to Human Resources front office and operational functions; I-9 compliance; maintaining file security and hazard protection; processing public record requests; optimizing client and program satisfaction through team work and a strong commitment to customer service; and providing support to the HR operating functions to the university as a whole. The HR Management Assistant II is responsible for supervision of other front office employees, volunteers and/or students.

The HR Management Assistant II ensures and maintains stewardship of the university and its resources by adhering to ethical standards of professional conduct; acting in a manner consistent with the University's core mission and values of learning, community, responsibility, integrity and quality; comprehending and applying all university and departmental policies, procedures and legal requirements relevant to competently fulfilling the requirements specific to the position; fulfilling workplace responsibilities in supervision of other employees, volunteers and/or students by demonstrating profession conduct and fair and equitable treatment of all employees through both instruction and example; and notifying the appropriate administrator if inappropriate or illegal activities are witnessed or suspected in the workplace.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of customer service experience;
  • Two years of office management experience;
  • Experience interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services; independently solving problems/performing liaison activities in a high volume work setting; coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements;
  • Experience working in a strong team environment;
  • Experience reviewing documents for compliance with established procedures;
  • Experience handling confidential materials with discretion;
  • Experience with employment eligibility verification procedures.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with employment eligibility verification procedures, including the I9 and E-verify system;
  • Supervisory experience (current).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience working in a higher education environment;
  • Experience working with Human Resources issues and programs;
  • Knowledge of employee records compliance with federal and state law, and University policy;
  • Experience/knowledge of record security measures and procedures;
  • Experience with Banner.
