Position Summary:
Provide advanced level administrative support with an emphasis on written communications and take primary responsibility for the initial point of contact for the Office of the President including intake for the Office of the Provost/Executive Vice President. Manage the highly sensitive workflow of the office and provide assistance with presidential meetings. This position reports to and provides primary support to the Chief of Staff and will maintain a high level of attention to detail and prioritize work amongst competing tasks .

This role provides privileged access to the inner workings of the University of Idaho and to highly sensitive information. The incumbent will be expected to operate diplomatically, discreetly and strategically in a fast-paced team-oriented environment that strongly supports and advances the values and mission of the institution.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Seven (7) years of administrative support experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Experience composing and editing a variety of business documents with quality and a high level of accuracy using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.
• Experience interpreting, applying, and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services.
• Experience performing liaison activities in a work setting.
• Experience coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements.
• Proficiency with using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches and data organization.
• Experience researching, compiling, and summarizing data.
• Experience working in an environment that requires strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
• Experience handling a variety of projects simultaneously that require a high degree of organization and attention to administrative details.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality while managing highly sensitive documents and information.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Associates or Bachelors degree in English, communications, or related field.
• Experience providing executive assistance to mid-to senior- level administrators.
• Ability to independently solve problems and take initiative appropriately.
• High level computer software skills including Banner database experience.
• Financial and travel processing experience and/or ability.
• Experience and knowledge to apply the University of Idaho policies, regulations and administrative procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of practices, protocols, and equipment used in office support functions.
• Bilingual; or have multicultural/international experiences.
• Good knowledge of the history of the University of Idaho.
• Demonstrated understanding and discernment related to confidentiality in an environment with high reputational risk.
