West Virginia University School of Medicine and the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute are seeking a candidate for an advanced structural heart instructor/fellow opening. This person will be on a 1-year Clinical Instructor path (about equivalent to PGY8) and will then have a chance to apply to open roles/backfills.

The structural heart team consists of four faculty members, three physician assistants/ nurse practitioners, as well as two program coordinators. Our state-of-art institute serves a large patient population of multiple states, including West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Maryland. We provide the most advanced therapy for all cardiovascular diseases with the latest cutting-edge technologies ranging from diagnostic testing to a heart transplant. The program is part of many national and international trials.

The successful candidate will have the chance to learn from our expert advanced structural heart team to develop the next generation of leading experts in this field. The weekly schedule includes 2-3 days in the operating room for SHD procedures, one clinic day, rounding on patients with structural heart disease, learning from our non-invasive experts about structural imaging, and participation in the heart team meetings. They will also get the opportunity to participate in some complex coronary cases, and STEMI calls to maintain and further hone their skills in coronary interventions.
