The starting faculty salary range for 2022-23 is $60,192 – $69,072 for a 1.0 FTE, 168-day schedule. Since this position starts Winter term, salary will be prorated for remainder of days in year. LBCC offers a comprehensive benefit package .

This position is subject to Article 31 of the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. In the event of a reduction in force, this position may be afforded less protection than non-Article 31 faculty. Position Title: Human Development and Family Sciences Faculty Division/Department: Education/Human Development and Family Sciences Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:
Fully engage as a teacher and faculty member in the fulfillment of the college’s mission. This includes: teaching classes in the Education/Human Development and Family Sciences department; recruiting and advising students; developing and reviewing curricula and classes to promote student learning; serving on campus and departmental committees and task forces; fostering partnerships with community, employers, and organizations; mentoring students in practicum settings and co-curricular activities; and engaging in continued professional development. Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Master’s Degree or a minimum of 27 graduate hours in Human Development and Family Sciences ( HDFS ), or a closely related field is required from an accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in social services or an education setting. Teaching experience with adults or at the community college or university level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Evidence of student-centered teaching and commitment to student success. Experience with varied modalities of instruction.Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. Knowledge of individual and family development, research, trends, and the community college mission. Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office, classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Must be able to operate keyboard or other office equipment. Requires ability to recognize alphanumeric characters. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and students. Essential Duties:
Plan, develop, and teach HDFS courses using approved course outlines, student-centered learning, and equity, diversity, and inclusion ( EDI ) principles as foundations.

Teach courses in the Difference, Power, and Discrimination ( DPD ) program and participate in the DPD Faculty Learning Community.

Assess student learning at the course, program, and institutional level.

Facilitate experiential and co-curricular learning for students majoring in Human Services.

Develop a program in response to community needs, state and national trends, university partners, and program reviews.

Assume academic advising responsibilities. Develop and maintain an understanding of college processes, curricula, and technology to be an effective advisor.

Participate in the recruitment, advising, and retention of students. Prioritize transfer and program completion.

Facilitate student transfer and articulation of program, courses, and curriculum by working closely with other educational institutions.

Provide leadership for program and discipline-related initiatives.

Participate as a member of the Education/Human Development and Family Sciences team, and promote a spirit of collegiality within the college community.

Maintain competency and currency in: the subject matter of courses taught; equity, diversity, and inclusion; and in teaching skills. Maintain an appropriate knowledge and utilization of professional and teaching technology.

Exemplify and promote the mission of LBCC .
