Indiana Tech invites candidates to
apply for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Information Systems
position. This is a tenure-track, 9-month teaching position in
face-to-face and online course delivery. This position will be
responsible for teaching courses that support the mission of the
university. Indiana Tech plans on launching a M.S. in information
systems and this position will be heavily in this program. Some of
the courses this position will be assigned to teach will meet in
the evenings or online. A strong candidate would have knowledge in
and be able to teach courses in any or more areas such as,
Programming, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence,
Internet of Things, Data Mining and Analytics, and Project
Management. The position includes teaching four courses per
semester assigned by the Dean and holding eight office hours per
week.
Responsibilities include, but are not
limited to, fulfilling service and professional development as
outlined in the tenure process, student development by advising and
fostering relationships with students both in and out of the
classroom and serving the College of Engineering and Computer
Sciences. Other principal duties include leading in the development
of new programs and the improvement of existing programs and
curricula, maintaining academic records of courses to assist in
specialized accreditation, designing and revising the curriculum
for optimal student success, participating in student recruiting
and retention initiatives, as well as supporting the mission,
vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of Technology.
The successful candidate will work
closely with other programs in the College of Engineering and
Computer Sciences and collaborate with colleagues. This faculty
position reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and
Computer Sciences.
A doctorate in Computer Science,
Information Systems or a closely related field and college-level
teaching experience is required. Background in curriculum
development and online teaching is highly desired. Demonstration of
the ability to work with a diverse student population, and
demonstration of developing effective relationships with students
that prepare students for academic and career success are
necessary. Experience with a Learning Management System and the
ability to use technology effectively is required. Faculty rank
will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
