Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,304 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120 per month
  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under general supervision and reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment (AR) the Customer Service Counselor will work on moderately complex professional work in which assignments typically require the application of both knowledge and judgment. The incumbent provides customer service to staff, students, and the public for the department of Admissions and Recruitment. The incumbent provides one on one Recruitment and Admissions Counseling, for prospective students for pre-evaluation counseling sessions. This position also supervises the Admissions and Recruitment Customer Service Team and manages all functions and services related to admissions and recruitment inquiries from internal and external sources

  • Understand and abide by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and State of California policy regarding the confidentiality of records
  • Be responsive, innovative, results-oriented, and student-centered in helping students fulfill their academic program requirements and meeting campus goals.

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
    • Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
    • A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
