Job Summary:
Military Admissions Recruitment Specialist’s primary role is the recruitment of active Military, Veteran students along with spouses/dependents. Recruiters will produce leads and inquiries by developing relationships and strengthening recruiting partnerships with US Military Installations, Veteran Service Organizations, Army and Air National Guard, Education Service Officers, Education Service Specialists and Regional Directors throughout their assigned territory, directly contacting prospects and working with businesses/school districts/hospitals for other prospect opportunities (MED, RN-BSN, traditional students) in assigned recruitment territory. Emphasis will be to increase prospects and applicants for Columbia College – all programs, venues, and locations. This position is based out of the main campus in Columbia, MO, and is responsible for territories covering the central region of the United States. Reliable transportation is required.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College’s vision, mission and values, and contributes to the development of the Admissions Department.
  • Travel extensively (50-75% of the time) to military installations, military events, & military affiliated organizations throughout the territory in order to recruit and yield new students who enroll in classes at Columbia College.
  • Represent the College professionally to prospective students and their families, businesses, community members, employers, alumni, counselors, advisors, and teachers/administrators in assigned recruitment territory.
  • Establish relationships, regularly visit, engage and recruit & yield prospects with & from various organizations throughout the local territory. Examples include National Guard facilities, Federal Agencies, DoD educational facilities, police departments, hospitals, and businesses.
  • Establish strong recruitment relationships and attend events for the College to generate new partnership alliances with the goal of establishing a pipeline of students from installations and organizations.
  • Develop, analyze and disseminate thorough reports, tracking the progress and status of travel & prospective students through our CRM.
  • Maintain & document all call, email, text & other interactions with prospects/applicants/students according to departmental procedures in the CRM (and/or other applicable databases).
  • Navigate online portals and directives including ArmyIgnitED portal and Navy College Portal.
  • Work with Columbia College Global staff to develop recruitment plans.
  • Understand and comply with Memorandums of Understanding, and DODi 1322.25.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Honorable discharge from US Military (All branches will be considered)
  • Must provide DD214 / or DD-214 worksheet
  • Must have served one full enlistment 3-5 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of student recruitment methods
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College admissions experience.
  • Columbia College alumnus.
  • Former Military Recruiter, retired, more than ten years of service any branch
  • Experience with database management systems, such as Excel, Datatel, Salesforce and OnBase
