The Role
This is a 50
percent FTE position for 2 years starting in the Autumn of 2022 to
work on projects based on constrained realization dark matter and
hydrodynamics simulations of the local universe. The post holder
will work with Professor Carlos Frenk and other members of the ICC.
The candidate will be expected to display the initiative and
creativity, together with the appropriate skills and knowledge,
required to take a lead in the research under the direction of the
grant holder using cosmological hydrodynamical simulations of
galaxy formation to gain understanding of the main processes of
galaxy formation in the local universe and key observational
signatures that can be used to distinguish between models.
This post is 50
percent FTE fixed term for 2 years from the start date.
Although the
post is intended for research based on constrained realization
simulations of the local universe, the post holder will be able to
carry out independent research in his/her own right, ideally in
areas related to the main topic of the project in coordination with
the PI. The expectation is that they will contribute to the
advancement of the project, through the development of their own
research ideas/adaptation and development of research
protocols.
