The Online Education Services team on Doane University's Lincoln, Nebraska, campus is hiring an Instructional Designer & Technology Specialist. In this position you are responsible for standards, design, development, management, and support of online courses. You'll also provide consulting and training to faculty and staff on computer based instructional and multimedia applications. Subject matter experts/developers and program directors will depend on your expertise for technical and programmatic development as well as assistance with planning and coordinating course materials.

This is what it takes:

  • You have, at minimum, a bachelor's degree and five or more years of direct experience as an instructional designer or a related position.
  • You have experience with online teaching and learning programs in corporate or higher education and are familiar with a learning management platform.
  • You have applied pedagogical based design creatively and effectively.
  • You know and can apply WCAG 2 and ADA standards.
  • You are able to demonstrate an understanding of instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills.
  • You can show us that you have the ability to persuade, lead, motivate, instruct, and act as part of a team.
  • You are able to effectively prioritize projects and activities while maintaining flexibility in a work environment where needs may change quickly.
  • You have a history of successfully analyzing processes and procedures and formulating suggestions for improvement.

This is what we'd also like to see:

  • A Master's degree
  • Experience developing MOOCS
  • Three to five years of HTML mark-up experience
  • Audio and video production experience
