Scope of Job:
Responsible for managing the development, organization and implementation of marketing programs and/or strategies as well as campus and community marketing efforts, while coordinating and managing event operations and promotions.

Description of Duties:
• Oversees the development and implementation of marketing plans in an effort to increase attendance and or recognition at all planned events in alignment with University and Department of Intercollegiate Athletic marketing guidelines.
• Manages all event operations and promotions within the assigned area.
• Manages and supervises event marketing and promotion staff.
• Directs the design efforts associated with the creation of promotional materials of assigned areas in coordination with University Marketing and Coordination.
• Responsible for developing and building stakeholder and community contact relations for the purpose of developing and increasing brand awareness.
• Responsible for the development and advertisement of various publications that support engagement of university programs, and recruitment and retention of students.
• Analyzes market segments and conducts research to determine best method to reach target audiences.
• Serves as the liaison for the assigned department for various university marketing committees.
• Staff assigned to a department other than University Marketing and Communications will offer services in alignment with the centralized department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:
General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Direct supervision of assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Communications, Marketing or closely related area.

Licenses/Certifications:
None.

Required Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in marketing, media relation and promotion of events.

Preferred Experience:
None.

Equipment:
Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required.
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Other:
Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Should have basic computer knowledge and excellent communication skills, and be able to interact with a variety of people. Requires working on tight deadlines while coordinating multiple projects. Capable of re-prioritizing tasks and projects to accommodate urgent situations. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to take independent responsibility and initiative for completing tasks. Capable of exercising discretion and good judgment. Capable of performing well in a complex, multitask-oriented, and fast-paced environment. Strong ability to work as part of a professional team and excellent interpersonal skills. Good computer and technical skills. Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
