Xavier University, invites applications for a Tenure Track Associate Dean for the Undergraduate Program beginning in fall 2022. We offer a full range of degrees including a traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN, MIDAS (pre-licensure MSN, CNL), MSN, and DNP in Population Health Leadership. ROLE EXPLANATION:

Tenure Track faculty are individuals who serve the University on a full-time basis with responsibilities for teaching, scholarship and service. Tenure track Faculty are eligible to apply for tenure in their sixth year with the University. Tenure Track faculty are responsible for developing course syllabus, teaching and providing guidance for the students in didactic courses, coordinating related clinical experiences, evaluating student performance in the baccalaureate program, collaborating with other baccalaureate faculty members for ongoing curriculum development, and advocating for students’ concerns.

REPONSIBILITIES

Leadership for undergraduate programs:
  • Serve as a member of the Deans Academic Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with the BSN and ABNS program directors
  • Responsible and accountable for University and College goals and strategic initiatives related to Academic program excellence with face to face and online
  • Participate in the budgeting process by providing data and information on needed resources to support implementation of program
  • Determine faculty and resources needed based on current and projected enrollment projections
  • Recommend to the Dean in hiring full time faculty
  • Hire and evaluate adjunct faculty
  • Evaluation of Faculty whose primary teaching responsibility is in the undergraduate programs
  • Participates in the decision making process for student admission and progression
  • Develop program schedules
  • Make faculty assignments
Accreditation
  • Provide curriculum leadership to assure that programs conform to accreditation and state board of nursing standards
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for the Board of Nursing, AACN and CCNE
  • Monitor and maintain enrollment statistics for each of the undergraduate programs
  • Maintain currency in educational trends and best practices for undergraduate programs in nursing
Additional Responsibilities
  • Teach 2 courses during the calendar year
  • Collaborate with compliance officer
  • Serve as liaison and member of health system partners practice committees
  • Serve as a liaison and represent undergraduate programs on University Committees
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Current, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Ohio
  • 5 years’ experience in providing didactic and clinical supervision at the baccalaureate level
  • 3-5 years experience as a department chair or program director
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational and leadership skills preferred
  • Knowledgeable of current research and scholarship, that is supportive to the professional development of nursing
  • Maintains a commitment to community service
  • Familiar with current advances in technology to enhance the educational experience of students
  • Values and supports an inclusive and diverse environment
