Associate Director of Alumni Engagement

Under the direction of the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement (Associate Director 3) will coordinate the development, implementation and execution of new and existing alumni programs, events and services designed to encourage a lifelong connection between alumni and Kean University. This position will serve as a liaison with key partners across the university, including Admissions, Career Services, Student Affairs, Athletics and other units to identify volunteer opportunities and inspire alumni to engage with the school in meaningful ways. The Associate Director will contribute to regular strategy meetings to build alumni engagement and also perform other related tasks as required. Strong writing and relationship-building skills are essential. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree; two years of professional experience as an administrator in education, higher education, public relations, event planning, development, volunteer program management or other related field; and transportation for traveling off campus is required. Master’s degree in public relations, communications, higher education, education, marketing or a related discipline and three to five years of experience is preferred. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills; effective public speaking and presentation skills; and outstanding organizational skills.
