Description
Responsibilities:
Oversees and implements the University's compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, current guidance from the Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights, and the training requirements found in Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act and related Texas law and University policy. Manages the University's response, resources, and resolution of issues related to Title IX and other cases alleging sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and stalking for students, faculty, and staff. Develops and implements educational programs ensuring faculty, staff, and students are knowledgeable about misconduct prevention, reporting mechanisms, as well as their rights and, where applicable, their responsibilities. Serves as the University's non-discrimination compliance coordinator.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. A Master's degree in a related field or JD is preferred.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years' experience in Title IX coordination activities in a higher education setting is required. Prefer experience in a private Christian university setting.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, VAWA and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations is required.
  4. Ability to manage an ongoing and complex caseload of Title IX related incidents and complaints is required
  5. Proven ability to communicate effectively while handling situations involving confidential and sensitive, emotionally-charged issues, content, and language is required.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse academic, cultural, disability, ethnic, geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds is required.
  7. Effective presentation skills for a variety of constituencies is required.
  8. Proven ability to conduct and document comprehensive investigations with findings of fact and when appropriate, recommendation for or implementation of sanctions, is required;
  9. Proven ability to build relationships and establish collaborative partnerships across the institution is required.
  10. Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills is required.
  11. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours and to be available for on-call, after hours response when needed.
  12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
  13. Proficiency in general office equipment operation is required.
