Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team and be involved in all aspects of our innovative research studies on misinformation. In particular, the Research Assistant will assist in programming experiments, data collection (for example recruiting participants online), data analysis, literature reviews, and preparing manuscripts. There will be opportunities to present work at both local and international conferences.

The Research Assistant will help us to investigate (1) why people share health misinformation online, (2) whether people have metacognitive awareness of the misinformation they share, (3) how people update their beliefs when misinformation is corrected, and (4) what are the psychological mechanisms of this belief updating.

This position will be based at Northeastern University in Boston, USA. We are looking for someone who can start in July 2022 for a one-year position, with the option of a second year.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in psychology preferred, but related fields will be considered. The candidate must be conscientious, have excellent people skills, and have an understanding of statistics. Knowledge of programs such as R are a plus.
