About Northeastern:
Founded in 1898, Northeastern University is a global research university and the recognized leader in experience-driven lifelong learning. Our world-renowned experiential approach empowers our students, faculty, alumni, and partners to create impact far beyond the confines of discipline, degree, and campus.

Our locations—in Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; London; Portland, Maine; San Francisco; Seattle; Silicon Valley; Toronto; Vancouver; and the Massachusetts communities of Burlington and Nahant—are nodes in our growing global university system. Through this network, we expand opportunities for flexible, student-centered learning and collaborative, solutions-focused research.

Northeastern's comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs— in a variety of on-campus and online formats—lead to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-disciplinary majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.

The Bouve College of Health Sciences has over 200 faculty members across four schools (Community Health and Behavioral Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences), with approximately 2,000 undergraduate and 2,400 graduate students. It is the leading national model for education and research in the health, psychosocial, and biomedical sciences and supports the University's mission of educating students for a life of fulfillment and accomplishment and creating and translating knowledge to meet global and societal needs.

About the Opportunity:
The growing, diverse, and interdisciplinary Department of Health Sciences, within the School of Community Health and Behavioral Sciences in Bouve College at Northeastern University, seeks an innovative, visionary, and dynamic leader to serve as Chair of the Department. The Department currently includes 45 faculty engaged in research, teaching, and practice, many of whom are jointly appointed in other schools within Bouve and in other colleges across the University. The department is undergoing a significant, multi-year expansion in size and scope and has increased by 25% in full-time faculty and over 150% in graduate students since 2017. Our undergraduate program has experienced even more robust growth, increasing from 127 students in 2008 to over 900 in 2021. Our approach to education is grounded in experiential learning with a strong focus on integrating community engagement, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the spectrum of learning opportunities.

Northeastern is a top-tier research university and premier experiential education institution whose diverse students and faculty cross traditional boundaries. The Northeastern Academic Plan endorsed by the Board of Trustees in May 2021 can be found here.
