Job Description:
The Associate Director is primarily responsible for Title IV Programs which
includes electronic data exchange (via EDExpress), Student Loan Programs, Federal Pell Grant COD processing, payment and reconciliation, Overseeing Student Employment Programs ( FWS , CCE and RSAP ) and, oversee compliance in all areas including verification, policy and procedure and security. The Senior Associate Director is expected to be knowledgeable of federal regulations and assist with A133 Audit review, SACS reviews and Federal Compliance.
Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Administer of Federal Programs (Direct Loans, Pell Grants, SEOG Grants and Student Employment Programs) to ensure compliance with Federal Title IV regulations.
- Understand federal verification procedures and work with third party to ensure federal compliance, efficient processing, and college standards are met.
- Works with the EDExpress and EdConnect software interface with the U.S. Dept. of Education. Responsible for data transmission with the College Board. Pre-award year testing of transmissions as well as successfully importing FAFSA and CSS Profile data into SCT Banner. Resolve any rejected ISIRs, citizenship issues, and any other criteria for student eligibility as related to FAFSA data.
- Oversee student employment programs ( RSAP , FWS and CCE ). Supervise and mentor the Rhodes Student Associates ( RSA ) to insure the employment of approximately 600 students in these programs.
- Maintain close communication with the director concerning changes and initiatives associated with each program they are directly responsible. Collaborate with Director on program development and college initiatives.
- Advise and counsel students and parents concerning all aspects of the financial aid program at Rhodes. Serve as director in the director's absence.
- C ertify and reconcile all Federal programs, including Pell,
SEOG,
and Federal Direct Loans. Work with Office of Finance to maintain balance of funds. - Develop financial literacy training and counseling
opportunities for students such as Debt management, understanding
credit scores, and creating a budget in addition to the federal
requirements of exit counseling. Work collaboratively with other
departments in
college to further develop a comprehensive financial literacy program. - Work with director to develop and maintain an effective communication plan to families and students through the creation of on line forms, automated responses, maintaining web pages, updating Rhodes Catalogue and various print materials used by admissions, graduate studies and study abroad.
- Work with the financial aid team and act as a resource for the Rhodes and Memphis Communities (students, parents, prospective students, high schools, community-based originations etc.) with questions regarding financial aid information.
- Active involvement in campus initiatives and professional associations. Maintain accurate policy and procedures for the programs they administer using Constituo and supporting tools such as ASANA and BOX .
- Serve as Lead Support for WorkDay and PowerFAIDS
implementation. Responsible for maintaining systems and updates
when needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Minimum of three years' experience in financial aid with some experience with most Title IV or state programs.
- Computer software knowledge, including Microsoft Word. Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
