This is a recruitment for 2 positions. One will be located at Rock Creek Campus, and the other at Sylvania Campuse.

We are seeking an instructional technology specialist to join our team. In this role, you will help faculty and staff use technology effectively with in-person, remote, online, and hybrid courses. You will also provide technical support and guidance on use of the various parts of the learning ecosystem, including Brightspace, Zoom, VoiceThread, Kaltura and others. You’ll work with a high-functioning team of dedicated professionals in supporting the college’s strategic plan and growth of the online learning ecosystem.

This position will be initially remote but will have a mix of on-site and remote work starting in Fall 2022.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a myriad of issues with instructional technology.
  • Experience advising faculty through the selection and adoption of technology to support fully online, hybrid, and synchronous instruction which centers the community college student experience.
  • Ability to assess faculty technology skill level and adapt support to meet their needs.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems, web conferencing, streaming media, HTML, office software, and audio/video editing software.
  • Experience applying principles of equity in technological guidance, specifically culturally responsive teaching practices, privacy, accessibility, and copyright.
  • Experience teaching or training a group of learners in various modalities in a post-secondary environment.
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Associate’s degree or two years of college-level course work in computer applications, instructional technology and multimedia production or related area (relevant experience performing the duties of the job may substitute for the educational requirement).

Two years of recent experience in a setting working with various types of computer software and hardware and multi-media applications.

Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of instructional design. Knowledge of current computer software packages. Considerable knowledge of current computer creative and production software applications.

Ability to work with non-technical clients and students and translate content into multimedia products in formats including but not limited to: video, audio, graphics, digital animations, and HTML. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a project team. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills.

Position Grade 22 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $53,598 to $55,208 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $53598 to $86013 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an office environment with some travel to other campuses. Interruptions are expected to occur often and the incumbent must be able to prioritize work. Heavy computer use on a daily basis. Must be able to adapt and respond quickly to constantly changing technology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Basic level of learned physical skill is required to perform such functions as keyboarding and operating multimedia equipment.
