Position Summary:
The Office of Academic Affairs at the University of New Mexico-Taos invites applications for a full-time 12-month Associate Dean/Lecturer position to support, develop, and promote workforce programs at the college and in the community.

The successful candidate will coordinate UNM-Taos workforce programs. Working with the Department Chair of Professional Skills and Community Engagement and the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Associate Dean of Workforce will provide leadership for faculty teaching in Trades and Industry. Additionally, the Associate Dean will work in the community to enhance partnerships and expand workforce programs that are vital to the economic development of Taos and surrounding communities in Northern New Mexico. Although the Associate Dean will not carry a teaching load, the successful applicant should be qualified to teach in a workforce discipline that is or has been taught at UNM-Taos or is a closely related field. UNM-Taos Workforce Programs
UNM-Taos offers certificate programs in workforce development/career technical fields, including the following: Commercial Driver's License, Construction Technology (Building Trades), Information Technology, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Computer Fundamentals/Technology, 3D Printing, and Woodworking. Emergent areas of workforce development include Cannabis Entrepreneurship and Welding Technology.

Approximately 80% of UNM-Taos alumni remain in the area and provide valuable contributions to the region's intellectual life, economy, cultural community, and primary industries including healthcare, tourism, and construction.

A bachelor's level degree in the field and/or a combination of education, training and credentialing.
OR
A master's degree or higher in a discipline or other subfield and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield associated with Career and Technical Education (CTE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a CTE area in a secondary or post-secondary educational setting: construction, carpentry, entrepreneurship, culinary/hospitality, welding, agriculture, information technology, or other CTE/Trades and Industry/Workforce areas.
• Workforce education leadership experience such as department chair, convening advisories, conducting DACUMS, and/or industry leadership experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as success working with broadly diverse communities such as tribal communities and/or Hispanic communities
• Experience establishing partnerships and collaborations between industry and education.
