St. Ambrose is seeking applicants for a new position of the Dean of Innovation, Adult, and Graduate Studies. This is a full-time position available beginning July 1, 2022 and will report to the Provost & Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. The person selected will work in a collaborative environment with the three college deans and others and oversee the activities of the Graduate Council and its committees. Providing leadership in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to graduate education, the Dean will also supervise the Office of Graduate Admissions. St. Ambrose has a long-standing commitment to life-long learning and continuing education, and the Director of the Professional Development Center will report to the Dean. The Dean will identify, explore, and develop plans for the implementation of high-quality graduate and adult-focused undergraduate credit and non-credit programs, including online and other delivery formats, and actively promote these programs in the greater community.

In addition to the characteristics identified above, applicants should demonstrate their understanding of the rapidly changing environment of higher education and their documented ability to provide inclusive and agile leadership that can respond in an environment that values shared governance.

Minimum requirements include a terminal degree, preferably in a discipline in which a graduate program is offered at St. Ambrose or a closely related field.  Record of teaching and/or administration at the graduate level preferred.

St. Ambrose University is an independent, comprehensive, and Catholic diocesan university firmly grounded in the liberal arts and is committed to fostering a respectful environment that recognizes and embraces diversity among all students, faculty, and staff. The current enrollment of approximately 3,000 students includes over 700 graduate students with 3 doctoral programs.

As an equal opportunity institution, St. Ambrose actively seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups. Position is open until filled. Please apply to https://stambroseuniv.applicantlist.com and submit your cover letter, statement of teaching and learning philosophy, and curriculum vitae. Applicants are asked to also write a one- to two-page statement responding to the Mission and Core Values of St. Ambrose University. Review of applications will begin May 15, 2022 and continue until the position is filled.  Questions regarding the position may be addressed to Paul Koch at kochpaulc@sau.edu or 563-333-6211. EOE
