About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Sr Dir - Global Mobility & HR Integration , the Associate Director, Global Mobility will coordinate and facilitate the flow of relocations and remote work initiatives for Northeastern's US operations as well as supporting the Americas region as a subject matter expert. The Associate Director - Global Mobility is a hands on role responsible for all US International mobility moves to and from all countries with a Northeastern presence and supports mobility for North American countries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of relocation, mobility tax, immigration, and other global mobility related areas and how they inform the outcome of an intended assignment. Ability to: handle sensitive matters and navigate confidentiality with transparency; to address complex situations and communicate impact effectively; to work effectively and collaboratively across functions; and to leverage technology tools to create efficiency, improve processes and client experience. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, project management and problem-solving skills. Experience reviewing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action. Excellent operational, vendor management, project management and program management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of attention to detail. Team player with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Self-starter who can work well independently or in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Knowledge and skills required are typically acquired through a BA/BS degree plus at least 3 - 5 years' experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Participate in projects related to global mobility and support the administration of global mobility policy, including process support for relocations and international assignments, manage the intake process and identify/assess the needs of the prospective assignee. Participate in the administration of new PEO arrangements and support ongoing administration of PEO cases.

2) Oversee day-to-day immigration and assignment management processes: chair the meetings, process invoices, manage contracts, etc.

3) Define, recommend and document global processes for global mobility, immigration, and relocation programs

4) Work closely with internal teams to process relocations or assignments and ensure careful information management across systems and teams impacted by a relocation or assignment.

5) Ensure the compliance of global mobility practices in line with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards, and other known relevant policies and guidelines; work cross-functionally with legal, finance, risk, and IT.

6) Coordinates meetings with multiple stakeholders to discuss the risks and implications of cross-border engagements, with the ability to understand and navigate complex tax, legal and immigration situations

7) Use analytics to monitor the effectiveness of existing Global Mobility, Immigration and Compensation Programs, plans, policies, and administrative procedures. Work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Global Mobility & HR Integrations to track cases, provide data on case metrics to help inform global strategy, and ensure deadlines and assignment deadlines are timely met. Escalates complex issues as required.

8) Act as a point of contact, liaison, and subject matter expert for the Global Mobility Team. Utilize a strong working knowledge of global mobility policies and procedures to recommend the appropriate mobility strategy to department heads and HR Business Partners. Drive strategic program improvements based on market data and internal feedback.
