Job Description

The Department of Theatre, Dance and Film at Providence College seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre in Design and Technology for a one-year term position beginning August 2022.

The department offers a BA in theatre and theatre with a concentration in musical theatre, as well as minors in dance and film. In addition to the major courses, the department also serves the college by offering courses which fulfill the college’s Fine Arts core requirement. Essential Duties

The candidate will teach a 4/4 course load of general theatre courses which may include Technology for the Stage, Introduction to Theatrical Design, Script Analysis or Theatre Appreciation. Additional responsibilities to the department include departmental committee and service work.

Education and Experience Required

Required qualifications: MFA in Scenic or Lighting Design from an accredited institution. Experience and interest in theatrical design and technology is required. The successful candidate will provide evidence of professional design experience and excellence in teaching.
