Position Summary:

Tutors are responsible for assisting students with the academic challenges they encounter while taking college preparatory classes. Tutors will be responsible for assisting teachers and high school students in classroom learning. Tutors are responsible for assisting students in completing assignments and assisting with student field trips and other program activities. Tutors must be willing to attend weekly staff meetings and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Tutors must be proficient in English, math (algebra through pre-calculus), Science (biology and/or chemistry), foreign language (Spanish, French, or Latin)

Primary Duties Performed:

Tutors will be placed in classrooms to assist students and facilitators in the subject area being taught. Tutors are responsible for assisting students in completing assignments, assisting with supervising participants on field trips and during campus program activities.

Required Qualifications:

Tutors must have two years of college in the subject area they are hired to tutor. Tutors must have a minimum of two years experience tutoring students from TRIO programs or other federally funded programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in the subject area and one-year tutoring experience tutoring students from TRIO programs or other federally funded programs.

Salary Range:

$16.20 Per Hour
