The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Health Services Team. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Job Duties:
  • Will provide ambulatory nursing services, first aid, and urgent care to all registered students and employees.

  • Must be able to do venipuncture and give immunizations.

  • P romote optimal wellness and participate in the management of acute illnesses.

  • Will work under the direction of RN and MD within the limits set by the University, state, and federal agencies, and guidelines and mandates of the State Board of Nursing.

  • Will be working closely with staff Physicians and RN's.

  • Responsible for maintaining records in HIPAA compliance, both on Pyramed software program and paper charts.

  • Provide high-quality patient care and keep patient satisfaction at a high level.

  • Complete daily reports.

  • Will also serve as backup when needed for daily office functions.

  • Follow up on test results (will learn to do testing on-site for COVID, MONO, STREP).

  • Must be able to collect specimens for LabCorp and Sonora Labs.

  • Will communicate with appropriate parties per RN and DOS direction.

  • Will have frequent meetings with the Daytona Beach campus to report daily COVID cases and quarantines

  • W ill also be responsible for COVID-19 testing, tracing, and vaccination clinics.

  • Will manage COVID vaccine records with the state, including ordering, temperature control reporting to ASIIS with orientation and vaccination requirements

  • Will continue research with CDC for any changes regarding COVID information.

  • Will provide relief for on-call contact tracer as needed for evenings and weekends, when requested.

  • Will be responsible for orientation and wellness training, as needed.

  • Will work with housing to quarantine and test any student who exhibits symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Will have considerable knowledge of professional nursing theory, techniques, practices, and procedures; considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease process, and body systems, current clinical diagnostic procedures and treatment, and skills in applying this knowledge.

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree and an active and in good-standing Arizona Nursing License with 1-3 years relevant experience.

  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.

  • Must have great computer skills and be familiar with SOAP notes.

  • Must be reliable, able to work independently, and follow procedural guidelines in place.

  • Have the ability to evaluate a plan of nursing intervention to meet the needs of individual patients.

  • Ability to make accurate decisions based upon the review of medical records and the ability to make recommendations for improvement in nursing services.

  • Must be flexible and have a good sense of humor.
