Technical Applications Administrator (Hybrid Remote Work)


Job Summary/Basic Function

Millersville University IT is searching for a Technical Applications Administrator who has proven experience with managing applications and solving complex problems. This position will serve as a critical member of the Enterprise Applications & Digital Solutions team within the Information Technology Division. Primary responsibility is supporting MU’s Student Information System (Ellucian’s Banner). The Technical Applications Administrator position is a permanent full-time opportunity and is situated in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Hybrid/remote work flexibility available a few days a week. Candidate must be able to get to campus quickly should an issue occur.

Annual Salary : $77,753.00 – $97, 746.00, plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
  • Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium, with coverage starting on the first day of employment for employee and all dependents.
  • Dental insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents with coverage starting on the first day of employment.
  • Vision insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents with coverage starting on the first day of employment.
  • Group life insurance – Equal to annual salary (up to $50,000) at no cost to the employee.
  • Voluntary Group Life and Accident Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates for additional employee coverage as well as coverage for spouse and children.
  • Long Term Disability Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates with either a 90 or 180-day waiting period.
  • Retirement – 2 plans to choose from.
  • Tuition waiver – For employee, spouse, and dependents.
  • Personal leave – Up to 6 days per year.
  • Vacation leave – Up to 10.4 days accrued per year for first year, increases to 15.6 days per year after 1 year.
  • Sick leave – Up to 15.6 days accrued per year, including up to 5 days per year that can be taken to care for a family member.
  • Holiday leave – 12 days per calendar year.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5 years of progressive IT experience with minimum two years administering any ERP applications.
  • Experience installing, upgrading, patching, and maintaining software applications.
  • Advanced SQL .
  • Experience with Linux and Shell Scripts.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills, management skills, and project planning.
  • Adaptable to work with varying technologies and applications.
  • Ability to work with students of diverse cultures, racial and ethnic groups.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in coordination with others.
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Successful Interview.
  • Successful completion of three background clearances.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with Oracle database management.
  • Ability to comprehend and make modifications to at least one object-oriented language.
  • Configuring and managing packaged software like Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Solution Manager, Extensibility tools, or Ellucian Ethos platform.
  • Experience with SAP and Onbase.
  • Experience using a report writer.
  • Project management experience.
  • HTML and JavaScript.
  • Experience using O365 applications.
  • PL/ SQL .
  • Higher education experience.

Special Instructions to Applicants
  • Will need to provide after-hours support on a quarterly basis.
  • Occasional After hour maintenance for software upgrades/patching.
