DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •  Provide individual counseling to students with a variety of psychological and developmental concerns.
  •  Participate in case consultations.
  •  Make referrals to community mental health services.
  •  Coordinates efforts with other student affairs programs and the academic community at the University.
  •  Lead group discussions on regular basis with students, faculty and staff members.
  •  Design, organize and present workshops specific to male population.
  •  Conduct group sessions for alcohol and other drug violations.
  •  Make classroom presentations on a wide range of counseling and mental health topics.
  •  Develop educational material related to the counseling services.
  •  Assist in program planning for the Counseling Center activities.
  •  Maintain up to date case files and tracking system for Judicial Affairs students.
  •  Submit monthly progress reports detailing student contact and outreach activities.
  •  Arrange visits to community referral agencies.
  •  Plan professional development activities with the Manger, Counseling Services.
  •  Must be available for occasional evening and weekends.
  •  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensure of LCP (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LSW (Licensed Social Worker) or (Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor) required.
  • Must have experience in substance abuse counseling, providing student outreach services and experience in working with male and female populations.
  • Professional Licensures or Certifications must be maintained during the period of employment.
  • Available to work after hours and week-ends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of counseling services provided to students in higher education preferred.
