The salary range for this position is $44,000 – $52,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Position Summary

This position exists to provide office and phone room support for the Health Center’s front desk and communications center. Position provides customer service, scheduling of patients, directs questions to the appropriate resources, serves as a liaison to back office clinical personnel, answers phones, inputs data to the Health Center’s electronic medical records data base, copies, files and verifies insurance coverage.

Duties/Responsibilities

CUSTOMER SERVICE – FRONT DESK AND COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
  • Provides patient care information over the telephone or at front line operations based on established protocol and according to HIPAA Privacy Law.
  • Educates consumers of University Policy related to Insurance and Immunizations
  • Schedules appointments,
  • Engages in liaisons for students/patients with clinical providers, insurance providers, University and State officials
  • Represents Health Center, Metro Insurance and Auraria Immunizations at campus outreach programs
  • Welcomes guests and patients, securing appropriate HIPAA compliance documentation
  • Establishes patient charts and records; scans and files documents
INSURANCE AND IMMUNIZATION SUPPORT
  • Collects client health insurance information, confirms benefits and records eligibility in electronic medical records and University data base.
  • Communicates University health insurance and immunization policies and procedures.
  • Follows associated HIPAA and FERPA law requirements.
  • Provides front desk coverage in these two specialty depts. when staffing needs warrant
ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS DOCUMENTATION & BANNER NAVIGATION
  • Documents all patient interactions into Health Center electronic data base.
  • Documents all patient demographics into Health Center electronic data base.
  • Communicates patient requests and follow up actions with health care staff utilizing electronic task manager.
  • Navigates various Banner screens as needed to appropriately document accurate patient information
  • Utilizes electronic scheduling system and follow scheduling protocols
Required Qualifications
  • Previous Administrative Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous medical front office experience; electronic scheduling
  • Experience with HIPAA confidentiality
  • Experience with Word/Excel applications
