Creates and posts content on Student Media Center's social media accounts in a timely fashion, promoting the Student Media Center and the content on its website. Actively participates in regular budget and editors' meetings to help plan social media posts supporting student-centered editorial content. Uploads content to Student Media Center's social media sites at Editor-in-Chief's request.
Job Duties
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with Editor-in-Chief and other staff to create and post student-centered, engaging social media messages that direct readers to content on the Student Media Center website in a timely fashion.
Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling, shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
Required Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required
Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours at JCCC each semester and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
Must demonstrate writing/editing skills. Applicant may be given a writing test during interview
Microsoft Word and social media skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in creating effective, engaging promotions in various social media
Previous experience working with a student publication
Completion of or concurrent enrollment in JOUR 120 Mass Media and Society, MKT 146 Introduction to Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing courses, and/or Journalism courses. (Transcript required if not taken at JCCC)
