Quinnipiac University invites applications for an exciting role as Assistant Director, Learning and Development. Reporting to the Director of Lifelong Learning, this role will be a part of a team creating and driving forward strategies and practices to support learning and development priorities for our corporate and non-profit partners and our students. Key responsibilities include ownership of end-to-end design and delivery of corporate learning programs related to professional development and supporting multimodal learning programs to engage lifelong learners. This role will serve as a key partner with senior university leaders and their focus on strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the director of lifelong learning, deans, faculty, and business leaders to develop and deliver corporate learning programs and interventions that effectively address custom executive education programs
  • Supports the design of the programs necessary to meet the clients' learning and training objectives
  • Oversees multiple complex projects and initiatives, including encouraging workflow and work plan innovations, and ensuring deliverables align to business needs including but not limited to the development of client proposals, contract, and relationship management
  • Creates and manages engaging communication with executive level participants throughout all aspects of the program including overview of the program, logistics and requirements for the program such as pre-work, follow up and evaluation
  • Collaborates with faculty to align subject matter expertise with clients' learning needs and outcomes
  • Partners with faculty to develop the framework and oversees the learning and development curriculum for clients
  • Effectively manage resources, create, and implement enhancements as needed for delivering and executing customized learning programs
  • Responsible for communication with faculty regarding the program’s audience to ensure they are aware of topics of discussion or emergent themes
  • Coordinate and support all aspects of the program delivery on or offsite including scheduling, venue planning and implementation
  • Conduct program evaluations and share feedback with the client in a timely manner
  • Shares participant feedback with the faculty in a timely manner
  • Identify and recommend any modifications of content and delivery for future sessions
  • Identify innovative approaches; and to facilitate coordination with others on development resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience managing and creating in-house corporate learning and development programs in both small to mid-sized growing organizations and large public companies
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, including experience using strategies for DEI in training and development
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory and strategies to address the needs of adult learners is preferred
  • Ability to be strategic, transformative, and tactical while focusing attention on practical solutions and delivering tangible results
  • Aptitude to listen to corporate clients to understand their needs and identify the
    learning /educational program that could provide the most impact
  • Strong project management skills (organizational, analytical) to drive projects to completion
  • Strong facilitation skills and influence (change management) skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including a consultative and collaborative approach when communicating and building relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Detail oriented and high attention to quality
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), meeting and communications tools for delivering programs
  • Experience with Quality Matters and with learning management systems a plus
