Job Summary:
This position is working 40 hours per week, and is a salaried role. The LMS administrator manages the daily operations of Canvas, provides technical leadership in the support of Canvas, and contributes to the development of solutions for technical problems. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other resources used for instruction. The LMS Administrator is the primary system administrator for the Canvas LMS and oversees the troubleshooting of all system updates and upgrades, as well as tools and software integrated with the LMS. Serves as a key member of the Instructional Design and Teaching Technology (IDTT) team

Essential Functions:
· Develops, builds, and maintains all elements related to LMS functionality, including but not limited to content integration and creation, building and alignment of outcomes, LMS structure, course publishing, user creation, and reporting.· Manages the routine and daily operation, use, maintenance, and configuration of the Canvas LMS.· Works with faculty, IT staff, and other subject matter experts to ensure the quality, organization, and timeliness of all LMS content, processes, components, and tasks.· Stays current with new technologies in the field through research, release notes, conferences, podcasts, webinars, and trade publications and organizations.· Evaluates and recommends integrations and tools that work in concert with the learning platform to provide a full range of functionality for teaching and learning.· Seeks feedback from faculty, staff, and student users and communicates opportunities for learning innovation and process and quality improvements. Implements solutions in concert with IDTT staff.· Creates and updates resources to train and support users on how to use the LMS and related integrations and technologies. Assists with LMS-related professional development offerings.· Manages relationships with various third-party vendors and facilitates the successful integration of a variety of applications with the Canvas LMS.· Serves as point of escalation (second-level support) for Canvas support issues and requests. Works with IDTT staff and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS, course content, and integrated applications.· Performs system testing related to LMS issues, new tools, upgrades, and features.

Under the limited supervision of the Director of Instructional Design and Teaching Technology, responsible for the design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of the Canvas LMS and all content, assets, and other resources used for instruction.

Job Specifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, in educational technology, instructional design, information technology, or related field.· Minimum three years’ experience as a Canvas administrator.· Experience with online/distance learning instructional design practices.· Experience with integrations such as Zoom, Kaltura, TurnItIn, or Respondus is a plus.· Demonstrated technical experience developing, deploying, and supporting courses, tools, and other learning solutions in Canvas.· Strong customer service orientation and ability to collaborate with all college stakeholders, external partners, vendors, and others.· Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.· Confidentiality required.
