Reporting directly to the Vice President of Health and Well-Being, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Administration and Well-Being provides visionary and strategic leadership for a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student health and well-being, financial operations, pharmacy, procurement, strategic health initiatives, human resources, information technology, Campus Village Wellness Facility, and facility operations within University Health Services (UHS). This position works to align the revenue cycle’s key performance indicators (KPIs) with the organization’s financial service and human resources goals, facilitate best practices, achieve efficiencies, while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards. The AVP will assist in developing annual strategic goals, KPIs, departmental budgets and operational processes that will promote financial stewardship and aid in avenues for enhancement. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in healthcare related field such as Nursing, Healthcare Administration or MBA is required. Five (5) years of progressive leadership in public health, college health or appropriate clinical area required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: A terminal degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Counseling, Educational Leadership, or relevant health or education-related discipline from an accredited institution. Experience as a director of a campus-based health center or experience working in a large complex medical practice is desirable. Demonstrated proficiency and commitment to social justice, equity, and access. Detailed knowledge and experience in healthcare administration and resource management, to include budgeting, procurement, and human resource management. Have considerable knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing patient care, patient information, operation of healthcare facilities, and accreditation. Ability to efficiently and effectively integrate diverse resources to provide coordinated, integrated, and productive care services. Considerable knowledge concerning health insurance program administration, experience in healthcare contingencies and disaster planning and operation, health and wellness education, epidemiology and preventative medicine activities is desirable. Experience leading teams toward common goals and outcomes. Demonstrated background in program planning, implementation, and program evaluation. Experience applying issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion to the achievement of health and well-being objectives.
