Reports To: Senior Vice President, Strategic Enrollment Management & Lindenwood Global

Positions Supervised: Lindenwood Global Instructional Designers; Lindenwood Global Registrar; Lindenwood Global Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary

The chief digital learning officer researches and stays current on technological trends in higher education, as well as the following: digital teaching and learning; online learning pedagogy; and the emerging platforms and tools for delivering digital education. This position will lead and oversee strategic planning and testing for digital learning modalities and will promote the University’s mission and culture in relation to digital learning.

Job Responsibilities and Execution
  • Collaborates with the senior vice president, Lindenwood Global; provost; deans; senior administrative and leadership colleagues; academic leaders; and faculty and staff to drive development and execution of lifelong learning, pedagogical innovation, and digital education strategies
  • Partners with Lindenwood’s faculty to establish their digital education strategy, including program and course design, production, and delivery
  • Remains current on state-of-the-art online learning developments in the U.S. and worldwide
  • Commits to the principles of universal design to ensure that the procurement of digital tools, the development of digital learning environments, and the use of instructional technology in classrooms is accessible and inclusive for all learners
  • Delivers internal and consultative programmatic services
Leadership and Strategic Thinking
  • Leverages technology to bolster online offerings
  • Cultivates strong relationships and buy-in among University stakeholders to embrace technological enhancement in alignment with the University’s mission
  • Works collaboratively with leaders at all levels across the University and external organizations
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and strategic partners
  • Provides forward-thinking strategic counsel to University administrative and academic leaders
  • Embraces technological enhancement as a core resource for the educational enterprise
  • Establishes long- and short-term strategic goals based on assessment data and ensures standards for the department and its field are met or exceeded
  • Adapts and modifies leadership based on new information and/or data; works to set and unite people on new directions as necessary

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business, management, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing strategy and execution
  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Ability to develop productive relationships with campus and external constituents
  • Strong leader and project manager with demonstrated experience in driving digital education innovation
  • Ability to promote and foster the value of technology as a tool to advance academic excellence and transform teaching and learning
  • Significant technological and pedagogical experience
  • Experience with non-standard term enrollment, registration and transfer credit evaluations, and borrower-based award year financial aid packaging
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, define goals, and assess effectiveness of projects and programs
  • Proven project management skills in marketing and strategic communications
  • Strong business development skills
  • Ability and desire to foster teamwork
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Flexibility to manage competing priorities and shift focus as determined by changing needs
