Summary The Assistant Vice President for Advancement Operations provides management, direction and leadership for Advancement Operations for the University of Houston and coordination of selected activities for University of Houston’s colleges, schools, and constituent programs.

Job Duties

1. Effectively leads a team of direct reports, creating or ensuring a cohesive and collaborative team capable of achieving identified goals and objectives by establishing performance expectations and monitoring individual and team performance, employee satisfaction, and performance and goals setting. Direct reports include staff for Advancement IT Systems, Reporting & Analysis, Gift Compliance, Gift Processing & Records and System Training.

2. Oversees metrics, division leadership dashboard, progress reports, and gift tables for the division.

3. Leads strategic development and execution of all data and analytical goals and operations, including policy and process setting and resolutions for business issues, growth, and development of metrics and measurements.

4. Responsible for providing strategic leadership and long-range and short-term planning for gift processing, database integrity, reporting, data analysis, constituent information, and providing effective support and training to staff in the use of Blackbaud and other software, including Evertrue and Graduway.

5. Collaborates with leadership of Major, Principal, and Planned Giving, Corporate & Foundation Relations, Alumni Relations (UHAA) & Annual Giving, Prospect & Donor Engagement and other University Advancement staff to identify their Advancement service needs, including – proactive strategies to constantly improve the accuracy, completeness and consistency of constituent data, automation processes including management of the existing bridge between PeopleSoft and the Advancement fundraising database and the development of reports to perform ongoing data and process audits to ensure data integrity is maintained.

6. Oversees special initiatives and projects as assigned, ensuring that implementation supports specified objectives and project activities are appropriately allocated; monitors contracts, costs and schedules.

7. Performs other job-related duties as required.
