Lecturer in Economics
The Department of Economics at Whittier College invites applications for a (non-tenure track) Lecturer position beginning fall 2022. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal, and the teaching load is seven courses during the year. We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts setting.


Tenure Status: non-tenure track
Exempt Status: Exempt
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Full Time/Part Time status: full-time
Salary Range: $65,000; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

C – Mathematical and Quantitative Methods
D – Microeconomics
F – International Economics


During the fall semester, the new hire will teach one section each of Intermediate Microeconomics, Introduction to Econometrics, and International Trade & Finance during the fall semester. During the spring semester, the new hire will teach two sections of Principles of Microeconomics and one section of an elective within the candidate's area of expertise that will be determined by the new hire in consultation with the department. One additional section of Principles of Microeconomics or Principles of Macroeconomics will be assigned during either the fall or spring semester. Candidates with experience teaching Microeconomics, Econometrics, and/or International Economics are particularly encouraged to apply.
