Behavioral and Social Science Librarian

Arizona State University Library seeks a collaborative and innovative professional looking to join a team of librarians who are dedicated to shaping the future of instructional support and research endeavors at ASU. The ASU Library Social Science Division supports the many Arts and Sciences programs at ASU as well as Psychology, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, and the W.P. Carey School of Business. Reporting to the Head of the Social Science Division, the successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of scholarly information across the social sciences and will connect learners across ASU’s physical campuses and online programs to library information and resources. This individual will work with campus partners across departments, centers, and institutes to build strong multidisciplinary relationships in support of research and student success. The incumbent will help define new services, develop programs, collections, and serve as a resource for scholarly communication, social science research data management, and information literacy. The current needs in the ASU Library are in Psychology, School of Social and Family Dynamics, and Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning, but the Social Science Division portfolio of responsibilities is broad and interest in many social science disciplines is welcome. The Behavioral and Social Science Librarian is also expected to engage in service and scholarly activities.

A center of energy, imagination and innovation, the ASU Library is home to eight library facilities across four ASU campus locations – providing students and faculty access to millions of information resources, world-class collections, outstanding study spaces, advanced data centers and a suite of makerspaces. Serving as a critical gateway to ASU’s research and knowledge enterprise, the ASU Library works to collaborate, educate and innovate across disciplines, communities and technologies, while leveraging key research, learning and engagement opportunities that are unique to ASU. ASU Library strongly supports student success and is a critical partner in realizing the New American University’s mission of access, excellence, and impact. Success at ASU is measured not by whom we exclude, but rather by whom we include and how they succeed. More information about the library can be found at lib.asu.edu.
