Children and Tween Programs Instructor – Continuing Education (Part-Time)

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is made up of seven colleges, the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest nationally. CCC supports students in meeting their goals – whether that is pursuit of a credential to head into or advance in the workforce, an associate degree with the intention to transfer to a four-year college, free GED or ESL courses, or continuing education.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Consider joining Wilbur Wright College's Continuing Education Department as a part-time instructor for children through tweens and teens. We are looking for dedicated and personable instructors who want to teach subjects from art, theatre, language, technology, science, STEM, STEAM and sports. There will be opportunities to teach in after school programs, weekends or even day-long camp. This teaching opportunity will be in-person at our main campus at 4300 N. Narraganset and our satellite campus in Humboldt Park. There may be off-site opportunities to teach as well throughout Chicago.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop curriculum and weekly lesson plans that are age and experience appropriate.
  • Deliver classes in-person onsite, remotely, and potentially offsite for corporate or government clients, all within the Chicago-area.
  • Ability to teach using different methods to meet students’ needs and abilities.
  • Inspire, motivate and foster confidence in all students.
  • Adhere to the City Colleges of Chicago code of ethics, board rules, policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates’ degree preferred.
  • Three-years teaching and/or training experience.
  • Certifications for teaching children preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of students and staff.
  • Inspire, motivate and foster confidence in all students.
