Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time position of Registrar in the Registrar’s Office, Department of Academics. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Academics and is located in River Forest, IL.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Ensures compliance with academic, regulatory, and accreditation policies in the collecting, recording, maintaining, and reporting of student records
  • Directs course scheduling, catalog updates, registration, transfer coordination, graduation application, record storage, and reporting
  • Supervises Registrar Office operations and staff
  • Provides timely, effective services and communications with all students, university units, and other stakeholders
  • Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Skill Sets: 

  • Familiarity with state and federal regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Higher Education software systems (Banner SIS, DegreeWorks, CourseLeaf preferred)
  • Knowledge of academic student record-keeping in a setting of higher education and of the compliance requirements thereof to external regulators or accreditors.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies, including those in higher education leadership, both individually and as a group.
  • Proven qualifications of integrity, leadership, accuracy, initiative and organization.
  • Strong administrative skills and exhibits a service mentality toward all stakeholders.
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • All communication with stakeholders is effective, professional, accurate, and timely.
  • Improves work performance and that of others by being receptive to and appropriately sharing information.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the Christian mission of the institution.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of direct experience with managing student records, registration, class scheduling, and/or compliance in a small- to mid-size university required
  • 3-5 years as Registrar or Assistant Registrar in an institution of higher education preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Business, Legal/Compliance, or a related field required
  • Undergraduate certification or colloquy completion as a professional church worker in the LCMS preferred
