The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Rowan University invites applications for the position of Visiting Professor in computational chemistry/cheminformatics, beginning 1-September-2022. A Ph.D. in related chemistry/biology area with focus on using big data and machine learning for predicting chemical toxicities is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering and curating chemical toxicity data using automatic data mining techniques, developing new machine learning approaches for chemical toxicity modeling, and constructing and maintaining a public web portal to host the resulting chemical toxicity models to share with scientific communities. The successful candidate is also expected to teach a machine learning and data science course in chemistry, and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups of faculty both within and outside the Department of Chemistry.
