Upward Bound is a federally funded program for high school students in Prescott, AZ, and the surrounding area who are committed to preparing for a postsecondary (college) education. The Upward Bound program is designed to give participants — who attend for free — the tools, skills, and knowledge to be successful in high school and at the university level. Students enrolled in Upward Bound are four times more likely to attend college.
Requirements of Position: Teach one class for Embry Riddle Aeronautic University Upward Bound Program. Preparing students for courses they will take in the coming scholastic year. Promoting student success with the Embry Riddle Aeronautic University Upward Bound Program’s high standard of learning and behavior.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To plan and implement a six-week academic course during the summer component.
- To assist and coordinate with tutors and staff.
- To advise project staff on progress of participants in the classroom and lab activities on a regular basis.
- To attend weekly instructional staff meetings and provide feedback.
- To assist Project Director and Assistant Director in evaluation and future planning of academic curriculum.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in field suitable to teaching assignment or appropriate experience and background.
- Three or more years teaching experience at the college or secondary level. Preference given to Embry-Riddle and Yavapai College faculty.
- Experience working with Low-Income and First-Generation students preferred.
- Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certificate.
